Did you know?

Multiple sclerosis most often affects adults between ages 20 and 50, with women being diagnosed more frequently than men.

Understanding Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the protective myelin sheath around nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. This damage disrupts nerve signaling and can lead to a wide range of neurological symptoms, including fatigue, muscle weakness, and cognitive changes. MS can present in several forms, such as relapsing-remitting or progressive types, and symptoms often vary in severity and duration. The exact cause is not fully understood, but genetic and environmental factors, including vitamin D deficiency, may play a role.

Common triggers for symptom flare-ups include stress, infections, and changes in temperature. Responsible management involves a combination of disease-modifying therapies, rehabilitation, and lifestyle adjustments. Early recognition of symptoms and regular follow-up with healthcare providers can help slow progression and improve quality of life. Supportive strategies, such as IV nutrient therapy, may offer additional benefits for symptom management.

Symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms experienced by people with multiple sclerosis. This persistent tiredness can make daily tasks feel overwhelming and may not improve with rest. Muscle weakness and spasms are also frequent, often affecting mobility and coordination. Some individuals notice these symptoms fluctuate throughout the day or worsen with activity.

Numbness, tingling, and changes in sensation can occur in various parts of the body. These sensory symptoms may come and go or persist for longer periods, sometimes making it difficult to perform fine motor tasks. Visual disturbances, such as blurred or double vision, are also reported and can be an early sign of MS.

Cognitive changes, including difficulties with memory, attention, or processing information, may develop over time. Emotional symptoms like mood swings or depression are not uncommon and can impact overall well-being. Tracking symptom patterns and communicating changes to your healthcare provider is important for effective management.

Traditional Treatments

Standard treatment for multiple sclerosis typically includes disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) that aim to slow disease progression and reduce the frequency of relapses. These medications are often combined with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to address specific symptoms and maintain function. Rehabilitation programs are tailored to individual needs and may focus on improving mobility, strength, and coordination.

Lifestyle modifications, such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and stress management, play a key role in supporting overall health. Some individuals may benefit from additional supportive therapies, including IV nutrient therapy, to help manage fatigue and promote neurological health. Regular follow-up with healthcare providers ensures that treatment plans remain effective and are adjusted as needed. Open communication about new or changing symptoms is essential for optimal care.

I was recommended to come here from my NP. I had severe dehydration and other ailments. I spoke with Alyssa on the phone on the way there and she had me booked in and ready within 20 minutes. Which for anything medical that's fast. I was told upfront about the service rendered as well as prices. We both agreed the full bag was beneficial as I was about to leave on vacation and needed all the help I could get. Alyssa suggested a few more things to add to my Restoration bag. As I sat in the sauna getting my WebMD meeting completed, Maggie came in and explained all the next steps and made sure I was comfortable. She then got the IV in and I was ready to go. Very painless. I am a Red Cross donor and very frequently donate blood. Maggie has a very soft touch when hitting the vein. The bag took roughly 45 to 55 mins to complete. Very great experience. And if I ever feel bad again from this TX heat I know where to go. 10/10 would recommend.

I was feeling so rundown and feeling like I was starting to come on sick And the ladies at DRIP BAR Burleson were so kind and helped me find out what drip would be right for me. They put me in the salt sauna which was 10 out of 10. Cannot recommend that enough and got me my perfect drip which was the restoration one I believe and I left there feeling better already. Over the past couple of days, I can definitely tell a difference and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Cannot recommend all of the ladies there enough they make you feel so comfortable and also stick you perfect on the 1st try! Because let’s be honest, there’s nothing worse than somebody who cannot do an IV and all the ladies there are 10/10 for that. If you’re feeling rundown, hungover, or feeling like you’re about to start becoming sick, go see the girls at DRIP BAR Burleson. Thank you girls!

I came here after I went on a vacation and got sick from the travel and exposure to a wildfire. I felt so very taken care of and the allergy package I got really helped me finish the healing process faster. I really felt taken care of and being checked in on after treatment just added to that experience. Definitely recommend.
