Cold & Flu

How can I recover faster?

Colds and flu can disrupt your daily routine and leave you feeling drained. The body’s immune response creates inflammation and fatigue as it fights off viruses. Many people seek ways to support their recovery and reduce the impact on their lives.

Support Your Immune Recovery Naturally

Targeted immune support.

IV therapy offers a direct way to deliver hydration, antioxidants, and essential nutrients that help the body respond to cold and flu symptoms. These infusions can support immune function, ease fatigue, and help reduce the severity of discomfort. By replenishing vitamins and minerals, IV therapy may also help shorten recovery time and restore energy. Many people find this approach beneficial during peak cold and flu season or after exposure to viral environments.

The DRIPBaR Burleson provides tailored IV therapies designed to help you feel better and recover more efficiently. Our team focuses on supporting your body’s natural defenses and helping you regain your strength. Book your appointment today to experience the benefits of targeted immune support.

Did you know?

Colds and flu are most contagious in the first three days of symptoms, making early support especially important.

Understanding Cold and Flu Symptoms

Colds and flu are both viral respiratory illnesses, but they differ in how quickly symptoms appear and how severe they become. The common cold usually develops gradually, causing a runny nose, sore throat, cough, and mild fatigue. Influenza, on the other hand, often starts suddenly with high fever, chills, body aches, and pronounced tiredness. Both conditions are spread through respiratory droplets and can be contracted by touching contaminated surfaces.

Triggers for these illnesses include close contact with infected individuals, crowded environments, and weakened immune systems. Managing cold and flu involves rest, hydration, and symptom relief with over-the-counter remedies or antiviral medications when appropriate. Preventive strategies like handwashing, avoiding close contact with sick people, and supporting immune health can help reduce your risk. Integrative approaches, such as IV therapy, are increasingly used to complement traditional care and support recovery.

Common Symptoms of Cold & Flu

Cold symptoms often begin with a scratchy throat, followed by a runny or stuffy nose and mild cough. Fatigue and low-grade fever may develop, but symptoms tend to stay mild and resolve within a week. Some people experience mild headaches or sinus pressure, but severe complications are rare.

Flu symptoms tend to appear suddenly and are usually more intense than those of a cold. High fever, chills, muscle aches, and significant fatigue are common, along with a dry cough and headaches. The flu can also cause chest discomfort and, in some cases, gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea or diarrhea.

Both colds and flu can leave you feeling drained and disrupt your daily activities. Lingering symptoms such as cough, brain fog, or low energy may persist even after the initial illness has passed. People with weakened immune systems, young children, and older adults are at higher risk for complications and may experience more severe or prolonged symptoms.

Traditional Treatments

Standard treatment for colds and flu focuses on relieving symptoms and supporting the body’s natural healing process. Rest, hydration, and over-the-counter medications for fever, congestion, or aches are commonly recommended. Antiviral medications may be prescribed for certain cases of influenza, especially when started early.

Additional care may include using humidifiers, saline nasal sprays, or throat lozenges to ease discomfort. Preventive measures such as vaccination, frequent handwashing, and avoiding close contact with sick individuals can help reduce the risk of infection. Integrative therapies like IV nutrient infusions are sometimes used to complement traditional care, aiming to support immune recovery and reduce symptom severity.

I was recommended to come here from my NP. I had severe dehydration and other ailments. I spoke with Alyssa on the phone on the way there and she had me booked in and ready within 20 minutes. Which for anything medical that's fast. I was told upfront about the service rendered as well as prices. We both agreed the full bag was beneficial as I was about to leave on vacation and needed all the help I could get. Alyssa suggested a few more things to add to my Restoration bag. As I sat in the sauna getting my WebMD meeting completed, Maggie came in and explained all the next steps and made sure I was comfortable. She then got the IV in and I was ready to go. Very painless. I am a Red Cross donor and very frequently donate blood. Maggie has a very soft touch when hitting the vein. The bag took roughly 45 to 55 mins to complete. Very great experience. And if I ever feel bad again from this TX heat I know where to go. 10/10 would recommend.

I was feeling so rundown and feeling like I was starting to come on sick And the ladies at DRIP BAR Burleson were so kind and helped me find out what drip would be right for me. They put me in the salt sauna which was 10 out of 10. Cannot recommend that enough and got me my perfect drip which was the restoration one I believe and I left there feeling better already. Over the past couple of days, I can definitely tell a difference and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Cannot recommend all of the ladies there enough they make you feel so comfortable and also stick you perfect on the 1st try! Because let’s be honest, there’s nothing worse than somebody who cannot do an IV and all the ladies there are 10/10 for that. If you’re feeling rundown, hungover, or feeling like you’re about to start becoming sick, go see the girls at DRIP BAR Burleson. Thank you girls!

I came here after I went on a vacation and got sick from the travel and exposure to a wildfire. I felt so very taken care of and the allergy package I got really helped me finish the healing process faster. I really felt taken care of and being checked in on after treatment just added to that experience. Definitely recommend.

FAQs About Cold & Flu

What lifestyle adjustments can help achieve a faster recovery?

Getting plenty of rest, staying hydrated, and eating nutrient-rich foods are key steps for supporting recovery. Limiting stress and practicing good hand hygiene can also help your body heal. Avoiding close contact with others while symptomatic reduces the risk of spreading illness. These habits work together to promote a positive outcome.
Maintaining regular hydration, balanced nutrition, and adequate sleep helps support your immune system. Consistent handwashing and minimizing exposure to sick individuals are also important. Managing stress and following a healthy routine can make a difference. These priorities help you stay resilient during cold and flu season.
A healthy gut supports the immune system by helping regulate inflammation and nutrient absorption. Beneficial gut bacteria play a role in defending against pathogens. Eating fiber-rich foods and probiotics can promote gut balance. This connection helps your body respond more effectively to illness.
Practicing relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, can help reduce stress during illness. Managing stress supports immune function and overall well-being. Taking breaks and getting enough sleep are also beneficial. These strategies help your body recover more efficiently.
Including more vitamin C-rich foods like citrus fruits and peppers in your diet can support immune health. Spacing out intake throughout the day helps maintain steady levels. Pairing vitamin C with other antioxidants may enhance its effects. These small changes can contribute to better outcomes.
The immune system relies on a steady supply of nutrients, hydration, and rest to function well. Antioxidants and minerals help regulate immune responses and reduce inflammation. Supporting these needs can help maintain balance over time. This approach encourages long-term wellness.
Resting, staying hydrated, and using a humidifier can ease symptoms at home. Gentle movement and nutritious meals also support recovery. Avoiding strenuous activity allows your body to focus on healing. These practices work alongside other care methods.
Keeping zinc supplements or zinc-rich snacks on hand makes it easier to support your immune system. Adding foods like nuts and seeds to meals can help. Setting reminders can ensure consistent intake. These steps make it simple to include zinc in your routine.
Having a plan for managing symptoms, such as keeping hydration supplies and comfort items ready, is helpful. Monitoring your temperature and resting early can make a difference. Staying in contact with your healthcare provider ensures you get the right support. Preparation helps you respond quickly to flare-ups.
Adjusting your routine to include more rest, hydration, and immune-supportive foods is beneficial in winter. Scheduling regular handwashing and limiting exposure to crowds can help. Planning for extra self-care supports your body during peak illness season. These steps keep your wellness routine strong.
